FAQs

Drinking cold-pressed juice can help you increase your daily raw fruit and vegetable intake as well as increase your vitamin absorption. Many people swear by the health benefits of cold-pressed juice and attribute it to increased energy, weight loss and better overall health. However, we’re not doctors so we can’t make those kinds of guarantees. What we can tell you is it’s delicious!

What’s special about cold-pressed juice?

Cold-pressing juice is a method of juicing that enables juice to be bottled without preservatives or pasteurization. The benefit of doing it this way is we can make sure the juice is nutrient-dense and packed with live enzymes, with a 4-5 day shelf life. We do this by using a hydraulic press that uses thousands of pounds of pressure to extract the maximum amount of juice from fresh fruits and vegetables.

What makes cold-pressed juices different from other types of juices?

Most common juicers use centrifugal force to shred fruits and vegetables at high speeds. This generates heat, which oxidizes and separates the natural nutrients from the fruits and vegetables. Because of that, the nutrients and enzymes have a shorter shelf life where their benefits can truly be experienced. These juices are best served within 15 minutes of being juiced for maximum purity.

Because of the way we process cold-pressed juices, we can guarantee up to five times the amount of nutrients, vitamins, and live enzymes for a longer period of time. Enjoy your cold-pressed juices on day 1 or day 4 - and you’ll still reap its benefits.

How do you make cold-pressed juice?

We use a large commercial cold pressed juicer called the Good Nature x1. After we prep the fruits and vegetables, they are ground by a slow moving blade. The resulting pulp is dropped into a woven cloth bag, which is then pressed by two stainless steel plates. By using thousands of pounds of pressure, we can extract every last drop.

How long will my juice last?

Since our juice is raw and not pasteurized nor preserved, the shelf life is 4-5 days from when the initial juicing occurred, depending on the content. We indicate expiration dates on each bottle, and the juices must be kept refrigerated at all times. We remove all expired juices from our fridge immediately to ensure our customers get only the best and healthiest options.

Who are your suppliers?

As a small business, we know how important it is to support fellow small businesses. We try to support local New Jersey farms whenever possible to ensure the quality of our product. During the summer months, we’re able to buy in bulk from our local farmers. During the winter, we use Ace Organics and Baldor Specialty Foods, who distribute produce from farms in the NJ, NY, and PA regions. At Nourished. by Nature, we’ll always choose a locally sourced item over an imported item.

Is it safe to drink cold-pressed juice or do a juice cleanse if I have health issues, am on medication, am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We strongly recommend checking with your health care professionals first to be on the safe side!

I have food allergies. Are your products safe for me to consume?

While we do process nuts in our facility, we use different machines for our nuts than our juices. However, cross-contamination is possible so please use your best judgment.
